Colorado Review is among the many literary magazines in this excellent program launched by our good friends and supporters at CLMP:

The Council of Literary Magazines and Presses (CLMP) is rolling out an expanded catalogue for its Lit Mag Adoption Program for Creative Writing Courses. This program offers discounted subscriptions for selected literary magazines to writing classes adopting them for course use (with free desk-copy subscriptions to the professors). You can adopt magazines for Spring 2011 courses on the CLMP Lit Mag Adoption Program Website now (http://www.clmp.org/adoption/). If you adopt a magazine, once during the semester a senior editor will participate in a virtual (or in person, if possible) meeting with your class. During this meeting, s/he may discuss the history of the magazine, the current literary landscape, the curatorial process, etc., allowing students to better understand the publishing community in which they’re most likely to be published. The ultimate goal of this program is to expose students to the variety of magazines out there and promote an active, engaged reading culture among young writers.

Visit the CLMP Lit Mag Adoption Program website to review the online catalogue and resources (http://www.clmp.org/adoption/). You can order magazines now for Spring 2011 course adoptions. After you adopt a magazine, you will receive log-in information for your students to order their discounted subscriptions through the CLMP website. If you have questions about the program, feel free to contact CLMP’s Programs Director, Jamie Schwartz (jschwartz@clmp.org).
